Little R's First Food

Little R has been very patiently waiting to get her turn to eat real food. This past Sunday I decided I had tortured her long enough and decided to give her some rice cereal.
She is a natural. She knew exactly what to do with the spoon and especially the food that's on it.

Granny and Little R

Too sweet. Don't worry, she did the same thing with Queen E when she was this little.

Christmas Cookies

Emorie really wanted to make Christmas cookies this year, as any 3 year old would. We made spritz cookies but we didn't decorate those so we made 4, yes 4, sugar cookies to decorate.

Christmas Ornaments

We made our own Christmas ornaments this year for two reasons:
1. It's really fun and I knew Queen E would really enjoy getting her hands into it and actually helping with the process.
b. Bear (our black cat) would knock off all of the glass ornaments, which in turn would encourage Queen E to take them off the tree and hold them, which could possibly lead to injuries.
whew, anyhow we made these awesome ornaments out of cinnamon (ground) apple sauce and glue.

As you can tell the Peanuts character that Queen E most closely resembles is Pigpin :)

12 pounds 7 ounces

is how much Little R weighed at her four month checkup yesterday. She is 24 3/4 inches long. She is in the 25th percentile for weight and the 75th percentile for height. She was a champion, she got three shots in her left leg and barely cried, that's more than I can say for her sister! Queen E had her three year check up yesterday as well. She weighs 32 pounds and is 39 inches tall. Queen E is in the 50th percentile for weight and the 90th percentile for height! She cried the entire length of the appointment. She did end up getting a flu shot, she handled that better than having the doctor listen to her heart! That's my Queen E, ever since the pneumonia last winter, she cannot handle the thought of a doctor. But she ended up taking a great nap when we got home (after we had lunch at Perkins, her favorite restaurant!).

We have a very busy day today, should be able to post some interesting stuff tomorrow!

Little R is four months

and rolling over! She started rolling over on her four month birthday, November 18. She started by first rolling from her back to her stomach. (will post video) She does NOT like being on her stomach, so the next day she she learned how to roll from her stomach to her back! She is rolling everywhere now and she's only been doing it for 3 days!

I finally gave in...

to having a blog. I said I wasn't gonna do it. I thought I could keep up with everyone with email and facebook, but the truth is I'm too busy. So here is my attempt at blogging. My plan is to primarily use this blog to post pictures and videos of the girls and keep up with any big events in the girl's lives. I hope you enjoy!
