Kids are funny Friday!

So, Queen E told me that she has been feeling left out today ( and just very sensitive over all).  I decided that she could help me pick out my outfit for tonight.  Here's what she came up with!

A PART OF KIDS ARE FUNNY FRIDAY-13!

Both of my girls spent the week at Mom's  (what they call my mom) house. While they were visiting they attended Vacation Bible School at the church where Phillip and I met and where his parents currently attend.  Phillip and I were so excited to be able to come to the closing ceremony-after being away from them for a week- to see what both girls learned and to watch them perform a song or two.

Unfortunately for us, this was the excitement we received upon our arrival:

Regifted Blessing

When we first moved to Sarasota my husband's parents gifted us with a well loved table and chairs.  We felt so blessed to have been given such a great gift, a place to have our family meals, do crafts, play play dough, have long talks with friends.  Over the past three years that table has gotten very used and almost dilapidated.  Many times my husband has had to put nails and screws in to the seats of the chairs so they wouldn't fall apart when the next person sat in them! 

This past weekend we got another regifted blessing.  My Mimmie (my dad's mom) gave us a not so used dining room table that wasn't quite the right size for her kitchen.  This table is like new!  It's solid wood, and fits into our kitchen just beautifully!  It's funny how the Lord works things out. 

Though we have only had the table set up in the house for two days, I have already taken the opportunity to try it out as a sewing table...it works perfectly!

Phillip needed me to hem a pair of pants (for like the past 6 months!)

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

This Week Around The Lawrence Table

A PART OF THIS WEEK AROUND MY TABLE

This was another crafty week for the Lawrence girls.  We definitely had Easter on the mind, and we were getting ready for Mom's (what my girls call my mom) birthday!  Queen E came up with the idea of making Mom her own handmade Easter basket with eggs for her birthday!  Again, this was another idea I had to really think through so we would come out with product that not only matched the idea in Queen E's mind but also be functional and last for more than 5 minutes!

This is how we did it...

I free handed an outline of a basket on the back of three sheets of thick card stock/cardboard - you can get this from Michael's.  The kind we chose just so happened to have a TON of glitter on it ;)!  Once we had all three basket shapes cut out we stapled them together.

We added a bottom (not my best work!).

Then we made the grass

While I cut the grass the girls decorated each individual egg!

Queen E wrote the card all by herself!

The final product!

This week we also baked Mom's birthday cake

Yes, this bunny looks a little evil!

Of course we decorated Easter eggs!

Our Male Child

A PART OF KIDS ARE FUNNY FRIDAY!

Honestly, my human children were cute this week...but not that hilarious.  I decided to dedicate this funny Friday to the most neglected person (not really a person) in our family.  His name is Bear Cat Lawrence.  He is a 20 pound solid black cat who LOVES to cuddle! 

Bear Cat has been sleeping in some very precarious positions and locations lately.  Take this photo for instance:

And this is my absolute favorite.  Bear put himself in time out at the end of the hallway and fell asleep!

Yes, it is slightly disturbing that I have this many pictures of my cat...but he is a big part of our family!
